Review
OverkillSTORY / GAMEPLAY
Your task is simple: Shoot down swarms of aliens that terrorize the star system and liberate six planets they enslaved. There is a a variety of weapon upgrades available during your battles as well as several shield bars that protect your ship before they deplete and lose a life. Overkill is a difficult game to play as you must pass through narrow spaces while shooting at the enemy alien forces but, overall, this is a pretty much addictive shooter, similar Bitmap Brothers' Xenon 2.

GRAPHICS / SOUND
The game's visuals are good for its time, supporting EGA and CGA modes only . The backgrounds are nicely detailed while the sprites move smooth and fast on-screen. Overkill's sound is also good when an AdLib or a SoundBlaster is available, offering several in-game tunes and sound effects as well as a catchy main menu tune!
